Headlight Overlay Installation
Headlight Overlays consists of 2 layers
* the top layer is the headlight overlay
* the bottom layer is the backing wax paper

1. Clean and prep the surface by removing any residues. NOTE:NEVER USE AMMONIA BASED CLEANERS (i.e. Windex). It will out gas for a couple of weeks and create bubbles under the decal. Which will result in accidental decal peeling.

2. Spray application fluid over the headlight in order to slide around eyelid strip with ease once applied. This will make it easier for you to get a levelled fit on your headlight.

3. Slowly peel the wax backing sheet fully exposing the adhesive side and spray application fluid on this adhesive side. You will then place the vinyl on the wet headlight (adhesive side down). Make sure the straight edge side with the arrow pointing to it is placed on the bottom side of the headlight (this ensures that you have a straight edged eyelid). Slide the eyelid around in order to get a good level placement on the headlight.

4. Once you have aligned and placed the eyelid the way you want it, you will now need to spray more application fluid on the eyelid. Make sure to leave excess vinyl around the top and sides of the headlight. This will help ensure you have a clean fit when you need to cut your vinyl with a razor. Now make sure to squeegee out all bubbles and water from the headlight overlay. Squeegee from the center out to ensure that all bubbles and fluid have been removed. Use the blow dryer to conform the vinyl around edges and non-flat surfaces. The blow dryer will shrink the vinyl and conform to curved surfaces (do not apply direct heat for more then 10 secs. or the vinyl will be ruined). Using your fingernail or credit card, create a crease in the vinyl along the edges as a guide to use for the exacto knife in the next step.

5. With an "Exacto Knife" or Razor, slowly cut along the edges of the vinyl. and remove any excess vinyl. Now, sgueegee out any more bubbles or fluid that are still there. Tuck any excess vinyl around the edges under the rubber around the headlight and use the blow dryer around the edges to conform the vinyl to the edges (some headlights do not have a rubber trimming around the headlights. In this case, you must ensure that you get a clean cut!).

6. Sport your new eyelids!
